Day 7 was the first Sunday of December and we were all excited because of the home fellowship Christmas party. Organized by two home fellowship groups, the party was held at an apartment clubhouse and included lots of delicious food (J&J Hawaiian BBQ), Christmas carols (Robert brought a portable keyboard/ speaker and played while everyone sang), a Christmas story (read by Auntie Fanny), games (like girls vs. boys complete that Christmas tune and Christmas themed telephone), and the kids' favorite activity, a secret gift exchange. The kids had a blast going crazy together and the grown-ups got a chance to share a meal together and catch-up with one another. Afterwards, Uncle Charles and Uncle Jerry organized an afternoon soccer game with the kids which Henry really loved. We played until dark and the kids beat the grown-ups, 6-5. Afterwards, Henry listed his favorite things by saying "I liked the cake very much! I liked climbing around the bushes! I really liked the meal!"
Day 7's verses were Isaiah 53:7-8 and Acts 8:32-33 and Henry learned that "Jesus took our punishment and gave mercy to us."
Day 8 was the beginning of a new week and even though it was a Monday, it ended up being one of Henry's most anticipated Christmas activities, the Candy cane scavenger hunt. This is one of the three "fun" activities must have that he requested! We hid candy canes all throughout the house and Henry really enjoyed finding them all, and then doing a silly pose with new candy cane count. Henry said "I liked it because I liked searching for the candy canes!"
Day 8's verses were Psalm 36 and Luke 2:1-7. Henry noticed that "When Caesar told Mary and Joesph to go their home town, it turned out to be something good."
